This EHS Coordinator plans and helps direct Environmental, Health & Safety activities at Trane Commercial Systems Operations in La Crosse. This role ensures compliance with all local, state, federal and Ingersoll Rand - Trane La Crosse policies, procedures and regulations. The role works to protect and promote the environment, health and safety of all workers.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (others may be added):
Work with plant and business unit personnel to implement and audit company EHS programs and initiatives.
Work directly with EHS Manager on specific safety issues in the areas of incident investigations, workers compensation, job safety plans, procedure development and compliance, work permitting, and other special projects, as needed.
Lead sustained safety improvements for the plants.
Maintenance of training processes to ensure that required EHS training is defined, addresses required content and is tracked to completion.
Work with the EHS Team in the creation of site EHS targets and objectives in support of corporate, regional and business group EHS strategic initiatives designed to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
Involved in emergency preparedness and response, with specific role(s) to be defined.
Leads the deployment of EHS technicians and hourly teams to facilitate their engagement in ownership of the activities required to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.
Assist the EHS Team in ensuring that all programs meet corporate standards and regulatory and other stakeholder expectations.
Participate in identifying safety gaps and driving alignment within the programs and procedures, to ensure compliance with Ingersoll Rand requirements.
Coordinate Industrial Hygiene and applicable Health programs.
Monitor compliance with corporate and/or regulatory standards and guidelines.
Participate in organizations and committees that provide continuous professional development and help maintain knowledge on industry practices, regulatory changes and incident learning.
Training for new and existing employees and contractors.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor''s Degree and at least 5 years safety & environmental work experience required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS or KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and maintain internal and third-party management programs - such as ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate risks and apply safety principles in a practical manner in a complex industrial setting.
Highly developed interpersonal, influential and leadership skills with the ability to listen/inform/influence and solve problems at all levels of the organization.
Regulatory expertise and knowledge of federal Occupational Health and Safety laws and best practices as they apply to Industry.
Demonstrated ability to manage workers compensation and case management.
Proven track record of working with plant employees, including hourly and supervision, to seek strategies and tactics that provide maximum benefit, with regards to compliance, performance, and sustainability.
Proven track record for conducting ergonomics, fall protection, job safety and machine guarding assessments.
Self-motivated, organized and able to drive implementation of EHS plans and system changes in an appropriate time frame while simultaneously building ownership of the system into other work groups both hourly and salary.
Ability to work with electronic data management tools and corporate Environmental Health and Safety systems.
Proven experience with developing and providing EHS training programs.
Ability to develop and implement strategic EHS processes.
Proven track record of managing incident investigation tools and techniques, root cause analysis etc.Experience in managing Air, Hazardous Waste, Wastewater, compliance programs and participation in Emergency Response Teams.
