Summary:
The Materials and Demand Planning Manager will be responsible for ensuring that strategic material planning processes are in place to enable the appropriate balance between operational continuity/cash flow, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
This position works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure supply of materials is in place to satisfy production requirements and customer demand.
The Materials and Demand Planning Manager will create and refine data driven strategies for establishing, and maintaining inventory of both raw materials and finished goods in support of Inland's corporate objectives.

Ensures that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively in order to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, while optimizing costs.
Takes ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery, and follows up to remedy the issue, especially in the event of material shortages that affect production.
Monitors inventory levels versus customer demand and vendor lead times to assign reorder policy for stocked inventory.
Assess inventory velocity to determine economic order quantities that maintain the company's inventory turn initiatives while optimizing internal shipping and handling costs.
Manages inventory risk and ensures that appropriate contingency plans are in place.
Works directly with Scheduling and Procurement to identify solutions and overcome issues/challenges interfering with Inland's ability meet production requirements.
Ensures that professional and standardized materials planning processes are applied across the organization.
Facilitates and refines Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes for all Inland facilities.
Investigates and implements systems, software, and reporting enhancement initiatives.
Forms strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required avoiding disruption to production Manages external relationships to ensure consistent, timely and effective communication regarding material availability.
Keeps managers and internal stakeholders informed on issues and concerns that affect inventory shipments, pricing and supplier performance.
Leads processes related to changes in material requirements (transitions, replacements, obsolescence).
Tracks and maintains reporting for key KPI items including, but not limited to; Inventory Turn Rate, Stock Outs, and Inventory Days of Supply.
Designs, develops and implements flexible solutions to aid business efficiency, drive process improvements and add value.
Develops and executes inventory cycle count process to assure high inventory accuracies.
Assists with inventory activities including cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and end of year physical inventory.
Perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and report findings along with corrective actions to management.

Essential skills and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or related field, or a combination of work experience and education required 5 years of experience in Production Planning, Production Scheduling, and Inventory Management Experience working in a manufacturing setting, including experience managing, processes and facilitation of project deliverables Ability to foster strong working relationships with coworkers and peers Detail-oriented with an ability to manage throughput, prioritize work and minimize production downtime Experience with ERP systems and other business tools relating to the generation and management of part/product bill of material, part configuration, and costing Demonstrated ability to identify profit and process opportunities and drives towards solution and implementation Ability to research and analyze data, prepare documentation and clearly articulate findings and recommendations to leadership Must be innovative and decisive Strong demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats Ability to organize a project, and project team as well as execute said project to achieve goals/timeline.
Work independently and be self-motivated Communicates effectively in a professional manner with all levels of internal and external customers.
Ability to lead and work in cross functional teams High emotional intelligence, with an ability to develop productive working relationships with management, peers, plant personnel, suppliers and customers Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced in MS Excel.
Non-Essential skills and
Experience:
Advanced degree in Business, Finance or other related field Strong Change Management skills Prior experience working in a label or packaging manufacturing industry.
APICS CPIM or equivalent certification Background in Lean management skills Work Environment:
Operates in a demanding, fast-paced, people-oriented manufacturing environment with frequent changes and interruptions, and multiple project assignments.
Works with a variety of people including vendors, customers, employees, managers, and executives.
Required Work Schedule:
Typically works standard business hours but additional weekly hours will be required during peak periods Must be flexible to attend conference calls, meetings, and other functions as needed to meet business needs Occasional travel required to Inland facilities Physical Requirements:
